San Jose Second Story

Currently in the works.

A New second story with children’s bedrooms for a San Jose ranch house. Building up means putting new structure down through living space and became an opportunity to re-design a dark ground level.

A winding stair in a new double height space brings light from multiple high angles. A new kitchen becomes part of a greater living-dining-great room that faces the owners spectacular back yard. On the second floor, a large landing becomes the family reading and crafts room with views to the back yard, and distant Los Gatos mountains.
